  • Impact of air pollution levels on the physical fitness levels of 6th-grade elementary school students in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
2, 2, https://doi.org/10.38207/jcmphr202100281., https://doi.org/10.38207/jcmphr202100281., 2021, refereed, Joint Work, In this study, we investigated gender differences in the effects of air pollution levels on physical fitness levels of 6th-grade students at Mongolian elementary schools in five cities in Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region of China. Significantly, a weak negative correlation between the 50m x 8 shuttle run execution time and good day rate for both boys and girls was found. There was a significant weak positive correlation between the vital capacity and the percentage of good days for boys, while almost no correlation was found for girls. Therefore, it was suggested that the degree of air pollution may cause a decrease in cardiovascular endurance due to a decrease in daily physical activity in both boys and girls, and a decrease in lung function in boys due to an increase in exposure to air pollutants by playing outside.

    788, 796, 2022, refereed, Joint Work
  • 61, 1, 39, 46, 2021, refereed, Joint Work, The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of the actual situation of the types of physical injury incurred during high school rugby competitions. This information may be used to improve safety measures and guidelines in the future. The source of information was injury reports submitted to the Kansai Rugby Football Union between 2009 and 2016. This was an initiative of the Japan Rugby Football Union. Reported injuries were categorized and analyzed based on the site of the injury, injury type, mechanism of injury, and school level of the injured students. The injury reports for each category were cross-tabulated and expressed in terms of frequencies (cases) and relative frequencies (%). The main results were as follows: the injury sites included the head and neck in 501 cases (33.7%), trunk in 30 cases (2.9%), upper extremities in 499 cases (33.6%), and lower extremities in 438 cases (29.5%). The injury types included bone injuries in 768 cases (51.7%), joint and ligaments injuries in 347 cases (23.4%), and brain/spinal cord/peripheral nerves injuries in 233 cases (15.7%). Concerning the mechanism of injury, we had injuries incurred when tackling in 449 cases (30.2%), those incurred by tackled players in 491 cases (33%), and scrum-related injuries in 10 cases (0.7%). Concerning the school levels of the injured students, 524 were first-year students (35.3%), 620 were second-year students (42.1%) and 324 were third-year students (21.8%). The results obtained in this study show that efforts still need to be made to reduce injuries in high school rugby players. These results can help in the improvement of safety measures and guidelines.

Frontiers in Educatonal Research, On-line journal, Paper ID: F-20191148, On-line journal, Paper ID: F-20191148, 2019, refereed, Joint Work, The problem of the decline of physical fitness quality of primary school students in China has attracted wide attention from all walks of life. This paper aims to explore the main reasons for the decline of physical fitness quality of primary school students in China. Based on the practice of physical education, we strive to propose targeted improvement measures. Improving the physical quality of primary school students in China also provided reference for similar research.
  • Note of heat stroke prevention management based on a survey of WBGT index during a camp event held in the summer of intense heat.
53, 1, 25, 34, 2019, refereed, Joint Work, A survey of WBGT index was carried out during a large-scale camp event held in the summer of intense heat in 2018, in order to search notes of heat stroke prevention management in outdoor youth education. Following items were investigated in this study; (1) the consistency of estimated WBGT values on the website of “Heat illness information” by the Japan Ministry of the Environment with on-site measured WBGT values and, (2) the effect of topographic surrounding environment to on-site measured WBGT values of days with more than 10 hours of sunlight, (3) positional traits and time changes of group temperature indices in mass-gathering outdoor events by on-site infrared thermography. In conclusion, (1) “Heat illness information” on the website of the Japan Ministry of the Environment is reliable to manage heat stroke prevention under heat outdoor environment more than 25 degree centigrade. (2) From results of the effect of topographic surrounding environment to on-site measured WBGT values, some outdoor activities should provide on-site WBGT measurements in taking radiating heat and airiness in consideration. (3) A rise in the temperature of human group in the last period of the Scout Jamboree assembly in the evening demonstrated usefulness of infrared thermography in mass-gathering outdoor events.
  • The difference of traumatic injury incidences causing practice time loss between on wooden floor and on cray ground in a collegiate handball team.
    53, 1, 15, 24, 2019, refereed, Joint Work
  • The difference of plantar pressure during maximal effort side-step between on wooden floor and on cray ground in a collegiate handball players
The Japanese Journal of Handball Research, 第7巻, 13, 20, 2018, refereed, Joint Work, The purpose of this study is to clarify the difference of plantar pressure during maximal effort side-step on wooden floor (WF) and on cray ground (CG) in a collegiate handball players. For a total of 10 collegiate handball players (five male and five female), the plantar pressure during a maximal effort side-step was measured. The plantar was defined as forefoot (A), middle-foot (B), rear-foot (C) starting from the toe, and furthermore, the big toe side was defined as inside (1) and the little toe side as outside (2). The load for A was higher than B and C on both court surfaces, and for A, CG was higher than WF. The load for A1 on CG was higher than WF and the load for B2 and C2 on WF was higher than CG. In conclusion, it was indicated that repetitive practice taking court surface into consideration is comparatively safe and effective in collegiate handball players.
